A-Rod's Friends Are Not Helping

Ever get into a fight with your significant other, only to have your friends chime in and start arguing too? Never helps, does it? Of course it doesn't. In fact, it just makes things worse, because the S.O. starts throwing back your idiot friends' arguments at you as if you were their author. A simple fact of sports and life is that you can't play offense when you're on defense all the time. That's a fact that Alex Rodriguez is about to learn the hard way:
He's been branded as a heartless adulterer, but friends of Alex Rodriguez claim the Yankee slugger is actually an "emotionally abused" husband whose wife, Cynthia, gave him permission to see other women . . .

. . . "Alex has always been into psychotherapy, making himself mentally stronger," a longtime confidante tells us. "He's had several therapists. Cynthia has a master's degree in psychology. Once she found out how vulnerable he was, she got into his head. Several of us begged him not to marry this woman, but he did it anyway."

That sound you hear is millions being added to the final divorce decree.

APBA Guy-

As the "victim" in a no-prenup divorce, which is why i continue to work, I should have sympathy for A-Rod. But I just can't quite get there.

Not that I have any sympathy for Cynthia. You kind of wish there was a third option: the money goes to pay down the national debt or something.

I figure she gets 1% of his earnings for every major league curveball out of 100 she can hit. That's fair to everyone, and it would make a great TV event. Hell, she could even have the proceeds from the show. Everyone wins.

Drew - Are we talking "hit" as in, there's a full team out there, and she has to beat the throw to first base? Or are we talking about making contact? What about balls? Does she get something for a walk? Clearly, some of these questions must be answered, but I'd watch, oh yes, I would.

I think if she could even get the bat on them, it would be a damn sight better than I could do. And no bunting.
